Yes, absolutely. Whether you want one of our award-winning tours all to yourself, or you have a specific idea of something you want to do but can’t find it anywhere, we always relish the opportunity to create a bespoke itinerary or work to a brief that helps you get the best out of the city. From individuals, couples, families and small groups of friends, all the way up to large corporate groups, schools, and colleges; we have been exploring Dublin with private groups from day one, and would love to hear from you if you want to book a private tour with us.
Payment is entirely at your discretion. At the end of the tour, you can pay the guide whatever you feel the experience was worth. On average, participants typically pay between €15 and €50 per person, depending on their enjoyment and personal budget.
Taking photos during the tour is permitted. If you wish to record video or audio, please speak with your guide beforehand to request permission. Recording without the guide’s consent may result in being asked to leave the tour. Thank you for respecting this policy.
Timings are approximate and may vary slightly depending on the guide, group pace, and external factors such as street closures. The 11am free tour is usually about 3 hours duration and includes a brief pub break midway through for use of restrooms and for refreshments if desired. The afternoon tour is usually about 2 -2.5 hours straight through without a break.
All of our tour routes have been designed to facilitate guests of all physical capabilities. It is, however, worth noting that some of our tours can cover distances of up to 3/4km, albeit at a moderate pace. We also can’t guarantee spots to sit along the route, so discretion is advised. Our guides will always do their best to accommodate and alter, where necessary/possible. If you have any specific requirements that you feel you might like to reach out to us about in advance of your booking/tour, please do not hesitate.
Children are welcome to join our Dublin walking tours. Please note that the tour is not specifically designed for children, and some historical topics may cover themes such as war, death, and other adult subjects. If you are comfortable with this, children are welcome to participate.
We’ve been running tours in Dublin for many years and choose to also offer them as free tours because many guests prefer to try an experience before deciding what it’s worth. After enjoying a great tour, we find that most people are happy to contribute generously. The free tour model is one we see the value of, and one that we believe in, built on trust, fairness, and mutual respect.
Reservations for the free tour are limited to a maximum of 5 people per booking. Groups of 6 or more may join the free tour by paying a fixed minimum fee of €15 per person. Groups of 12 or more are required to request a private tour via our contact form. If we believe multiple bookings have been made to bypass this policy, we reserve the right to refuse participation at the meeting point.
We always try to do the tours as scheduled. We recommend consulting the weather forecast before attending and dressing appropriately. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone tours at short notice in case of extreme weather conditions. In such a case, we will endeavour to notify those who have a reservation about any change in the schedule whenever possible.
